• Chappell Roan chimed into the conversation surrounding her Grammys dress, saying it wasn't "THAT outrageous."
  • The singer wore a burgundy Mugler gown held up by prosthetic nipple piercings.
  • Chappell encouraged fans to exercise free will and be "fun and silly."

In case you missed it, which, there is literally no way, Chappell Roan stepped out at the 2026 Grammy Awards in a dress that was held up by nipple piercings.

The Mugler gown was inspired by a runway look from the 1998 "Jeu de Paume" collection, and consisted of sheer burgundy fabric held up by faux nipple piercings, plus a removable cloak. Chappell also wore elaborate tattoos on her back, and matched her hair to the color of the dress. The result? Jaw-dropping, instantly iconic, and memorable to say the least.

The dress obviously generated a lot of chatter, and Chappell just chimed into the convo, writing on Instagram "Giggling because I don’t even think this is THAT outrageous of an outfit."

She added "The look’s actually so awesome and weird. I recommend just exercising your free will it’s really fun and silly :D Thank you for having me @grammys and those who voted for me!!"
